I have spent my life in awe if winged creatures; the sheer variety of designs and colors provides a lifetime of inspiration for me! Each of my wings is unique. When I begin the creation of a new pair I start asking, “What do you want to be?”. After studying many different species of butterfly, moths, dragonflies and cicadas I have learned to trust my hands and instincts.

The process is a little different when creating a commission piece. After gathering as much information from my customer as possible, I begin with sketches: blocking in shapes and colors. I pass several iterations through my customer to really refine the piece to suit their vision. Then I create the physical version.

Regardless of which method I use for a set of wings each set is carefully crafted with wire veins for posing and flexibility and sealed in layers of vinyl for maximum durability
